Author of Punk is Dead. Martin John is an emerging writer and a member of the Tl’azt’en Nation. A participant in the inaugural class of the Audible Indigenous Writer's program, Martin has received several grants from the Canada Council for the Arts. A published poet (“I Have A Relationship With My Father’s Heart,” <em>Grain, </em>July, 2026), Martin has had shortlisted stories for <em>Never Whistle at Night: Back for Blood</em>, Scholastic's Open Call for Indigenous authors, Subito Press' <em>Stephen Graham Jones Horror Novella Competition</em>, and the upcoming collection <em>Views from the Overlook</em> shot stories based on Stephen King’s <em>The Shining</em>. He has written five novels (one self-published, <em>Punk is Dead)</em>. Martin lives on the lands of lək̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples.
